Black Box Cafe ATL

Launching Summer 2026

Black Box Cafe

A workforce development restaurant built inside a shipping container — serving the community while building real career pathways in hospitality.

Black Box Cafe is an initiative of the Logan Wilkes Foundation. It’s designed to be more than a place to eat — it’s a real-world training environment where participants learn by doing, gain job-ready skills, and build confidence through structured support.

What Black Box Cafe Is

Black Box Cafe is a shipping-container restaurant concept that blends food service with workforce development. We’ll serve a rotating menu of fresh, feel-good options while offering hands-on experience in a working hospitality environment.

Why It Exists

We created Black Box Cafe to expand access to opportunity through practical training and career exposure.

  • Create entry points into hospitality careers for emerging talent
  • Provide real-world experience that builds professional readiness
  • Connect participants to mentorship, structure, and next-step opportunities
  • Strengthen the community through a welcoming, high-quality food space

Workforce Development Focus

Built to teach skills that transfer — inside the cafe and beyond.

  • Kitchen prep and back-of-house operations
  • Customer service and front-of-house workflow
  • Food safety, cleanliness standards, and consistency
  • Teamwork, communication, and workplace habits
  • Time management and responsibility in a real service setting
Program details and cohort opportunities will be shared as we finalize our launch timeline.
